BITLY IS A LINK-SHORTENING TOOL, WHICH MEANS THEY TAKE LONG URLS AND SHRINK THEM INTO SHORT URL AND CLICKING ON URL  WILL REDIRECT FROM BITLY LINK  TO THE DESTINATION URL

Bitly gives you metrics, when you shorten your links into bitly URLs, you will be able to see how many clicks(hits) they are getting.

Shortened URL’s can be used  in social media platform  like twitter, linkedin etc.
