Maybe it's an age thing, but having lived in tauranga for 10 years, 88 to 98, it's got too damn busy.
Re the tanks. We got 132 litres black, 285 grey, kitchen and bathroom.
175 fresh.
Blank tank, we dump around every 8 to 10 days. Much easier
In 88, it was known as gods waiting room. So those houses were shingle.

Best beachside campground? Starting something there. It is good and I also enjoyed the view from the Mount but look forward to your thoughts on Tahuna and Kaiteriteri in Nelson if you go there on your trip south. Didn't you do a Mt Maunganui walk when Harvey was young? There was a slip and you had to carry the stroller up steps? Or is my alzheimers in action again lol

Best beach front camp site is Tauranga Bay. However not near a city
Have been to that camp a couple of times in a borrowed camper. Love it. Reasonable walk to the shops and restaurants and close to the hot pools. Walk around the Mount is a lot easier on the joints.
Harvey's a wee trooper walking all that way. I hope he slept well that night 🙂
