Rotorua is NOT the most geothermally active location in NZ. That would be White Island, you know, the VOLCANO which blew it's stack Dec 9th 2019, but has been more active than Rotorua FOREVER because it's an active VOLCANO. That's more active than a thermal pool. Then you drive your van into a construction site, get stuck, and inconvenience the workers to help you get out? Really?

Found this gem of a video. When you came back some much to see here in rotorua. Kerosene creek for a hot water waterfall, hot and cold for a "hot and cold" River swim. The squeeze if you have time for a boat trip. Definitely get trout fishing licenses and fish some of our local lakes here there are 16 to choose from. My favorite place to go and fish or walk is the whirinaki river in a village called minginui. Stunning native Bush out there. If you want to catch some monsters trout. Definitely go to the south island and fish twizel canals. Or fly fish the rivers there. Trout can be a couple of pounds to over 30lb+.

I spent my 50ith Bday in NZ in Nov 2018…we put 2400 miles on our rental! did both north and south island was a trip of a lifetime! I want to move to the south island!! I took 3500 pictures and converted to a video slide show on YouTube….just look up my name cairo9544… if you want to watch 🙂
